RFK Monthly Meeting - November 9, 2009
Misc     shogun     Wednesday 21 October 2009 - 19:09:35

This Month at the RFK . . .

CURRENT EVENTS
By John Smith

1.  October 14 - California’s First Lady, Maria Shriver, loves to talk on her cell phone.  Unfortunately, cameras recently caught the governor’s wife chatting away while driving her car, clearly in violation of the hands-free law signed last year by her husband. LA Times

2.  October 14 - The Environmental Protection Agency has released a report calling for the regulation of green house gasses to fight global climate change.  The report was written in 2007, but was intentionally suppressed by the Bush Administration. LA Times

3.  October 17 - Keith Bardwell is a Justice of the Peace in Indiana. Beth Humphrey, 30, and her boyfriend, Terence McKay wanted to get married, but Keith refused to issue them a marriage license.  His reason?  One person is white, the other is black.  But Keith insists he is not a racist.  In fact, he says he has tons of black friends who come to his house, and even use his bathroom. CNN

4.  October 18 - The old 100 watt light bulbs are being phased out in the European Union to save energy.  So one skeptical German has decided to buy up all the 100 watt bulbs he can.  So far he has 3,600 bulbs in his house.  LA Times

5.  October 24 - Rush Limbaugh found an article about Barack Obama’s college thesis which stated that the Constitution was a questionable document.  So Rush rushed to his radio microphone and slammed the President for such unpatriotic writings.  Unfortunately for Rush, the article was a hoax by two students, written in an internet blog.  It turns out the joke was on Rush.  Yahoo

6.  October 26 - During the 2009 legislative year, the California passed and sent to the governor 953 separate pieces of legislation.  The governor signed 696 bills into law, and vetoed 257. LA Times

7.  October 26 - Melody Barnes, an advisor to President Obama, recently became the first woman to play golf with the president’s foursome.   LA Times

8.  October 28 - George W Bush has not gotten out very much since leaving the White House and moving to Dallas last January.  In fact, one of his big trips out of the house was to go into the Big D to buy some flashlights.  LA Times

9.  October 28 - Now that George W Bush is on the loose again, he made a guest speaker appearance at a motivational seminar where he was paid an undisclosed fee.  One of his topics concerned his early days in the White House when he had to select an area rug for the Oval Office which reflected his sense of optimism. LA Times

10. October 28 - Another one of Bush’s topics at the motivational seminar was about returning to private life as demonstrated by walking his dog Barney around his Dallas neighborhood, and carrying a dog toy so he can play with his pet. LA Times

To My Friends and Associates,

Thank you for your warm greetings and thoughts. Friends are the elixir of life, especially to you my friends with whom I have had such a warm relationship all these years.  It seems that our paths will always cross in this forever conflict and determined fight for human rights.

We stood for what is right in this world and the backbone to push us forward.  Keep up the great work.  Our leader, President Barack Obama. is a special momentum for all of us.

Your friend and ally,
Eli Chezar

TIDBIT
